The R.M. of Estevan is located in southeast Saskatchewan and has a population of 1,055. The RM of Estevan was formed in 1911. Prior to this date, records indicate that as far back as 1898 some form of government was in existence. Major industries are agriculture, oil and gas, and coal mining. Two major power stations are located here, Shand Power Station and Boundary Dam Power Station. Both are owned and operated by Sask Power Corporation. |
