Recreation Facilities & Activities

Something for everyone!  From golf courses, tennis courts and swimming pools to hunting, fishing and snowmobiling, there's no shortage of recreational activities and venues available to residents and visitors to the Carlyle area.

Golfers of all ages will be drawn to the many activities at the Carlyle Golf Club.  This 9-hole course offers large new bent grass greens with lush fairways lined with many varieties of trees.

Pick up and head over to the Carlyle & District Leisure Complex.  Located in the Lion's Park on the south end of town, conveniently near the campsites, ball diamonds and tennis courts, this facility boasts a junior Olympic size swimming pool, two diving boards, a kiddie pool, hot tub, and fully equipped main building.

Carlyle is home to a movie theatre, a skating rink, a curling rink, a fitness centre, a museum, and outdoor swimming pool and campgrounds, public parks, and baseball and softball diamonds.  There are many minor sports programs including Minor Hockey and Minor Ball.

Carlyle is located near two lakes, as well as the Alameda Dam which are suitable for a myriad of activities including fishing, swimming, boating, and canoeing.  Picnic and camping area are also available.

The efforts of volunteers is astounding, emphasizing the importance of recreational activities to community and area residents.
