Homespun Craft Show & Sale

The Homespun Craft Show & Sale is held annually the third weekend in September at the Carlyle Sports Arena.  At Homespun you can expect to see an excellent assortment of quality items to suit all interests.  Some of Saskatchewan's favourite artists will be participating in the show as well as a number of new exhibits.

Recently added to the weekend's events is the Homespun Quilt Show & Sale held at the Memorial Hall.  Visit vendors who will offer you the perfect pattern or piece of material for your special project. Take time to view the beautiful quilts on display - made with the love and attention to detail that your grandmother used when she crafted cozy quilts to keep her family warm through the long Saskatchewan winters.

Check out the Cafeteria for good homemade food at great 'homespun' prices.  Here you can enjoy hot soup, a variety of sandwiches and delicious pies - you needn't leave hungry.  There will be a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning and a BBQ Beef supper in the evening.

Stop by the Carlyle Sports Arena and see some of the best crafts by artisans from across Canada at the 'Biggest Little Craft Show in Saskatchewan!'  We can guarantee you won't be disappointed!  This entertaining event bring in over 4,000 loyal shoppers annually.

Dickens Village Festival

Turn the holiday season into a special experience - attend Carlyle's Dickens Village Festival.

Held the first Friday & Saturday in December, this event was a winner in the 2004 National Winter Lights Celebrations!  The Festival turns the community of 1300 into a quaint Victorian town from the era of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".  Authentically dressed street vendors sell their delicious wares from wooden carts curbside.  As the sun sets and the aroma of hot cider and smoked turkey legs drifts through the air, a lighted parade rolls down main street.

Experience the finery of a traditional High Tea, street urchins, carolers, horses and carriage rides, Native dancers, Fezziwig's Family Pub & warming Place, visit Cratchit's Warming Place and have your photo taken with Father Christmas.  Live stage productions of a version of A Christmas Carol are the highlight of the festival.  For more information call 1-866-345-5367 or (306) 453-2363.
